Secondary School Teacher: Humanities | VCE Geography
Start Date: Term 1 2027
Full Time/ Part Time negotiable, ongoing
The College invites applications from suitably qualified teachers who have a passion for Humanities with:
- Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities, with a specialisation in Geography.
- Experience teaching, or strong capacity to teach, VCE Geography.
Essential Criteria
- Appropriate teaching qualifications and current teacher registration (e.g., VIT).
- Demonstrated experience teaching Humanities, with a specialisation in Geography.
- Experience teaching, or strong capacity to teach, VCE Geography.
- Sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (AC9) (Humanities) and VCE study design requirements.
- Ability to design engaging, differentiated learning programs that improve student outcomes.
- Strong classroom management skills and commitment to positive student wellbeing.
- Capacity to use data to inform teaching and monitor student progress.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a faculty team.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience teaching across a range of Humanities subjects (e.g., History, Civics, Economics).
- Willingness and capacity to teach other Humanities subjects as required.
- Experience integrating fieldwork, inquiry-based learning and contemporary global issues into Geography teaching.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and GIS applications (if applicable).
- Commitment to co-curricular involvement and broader school life.
- Alignment with the school’s values, ethos, and commitment to continuous improvement.
