We consider Health and Physical Education an integral part of a well-rounded education and are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate Health and Physical Education Teacher who shares our values to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching and Planning
  • Designing, implementing, and regularly updating a comprehensive Health and Physical Education curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum for students in Prep to Year 6.
  • Conducting engaging and age-appropriate health and physical education classes that focus on skill development, sportsmanship and fitness.
  • Assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback to support their growth, while ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum standards and our Christian values.
  • Organising and supervising sports activities and events, with an emphasis on character development and spiritual growth.
  • Planning and teaching Health lessons that include social-emotional learning to promote students' overall wellbeing and character development.

• Biblical Perspective:
  • Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into the curriculum to foster spiritual and moral development among students.
• Upholding College Values:
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the values and ethos of Oxley Christian College, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a well organised and positive classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
• Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the broader school community to support the holistic development of students.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Education degree in Health and Physical Education, Primary Education or a related field (with teaching qualifications).
• Current teaching certification and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Experience in teaching primary school students, preferably in an Australian Curriculum based setting.
• Ability to teach from a Biblical perspective and integrate Christian values into teaching practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
