A great success!
Oxley College Open Day this year was a great success! It saw large numbers of Parents, Grandparents, past students, and new families enjoy a range of exciting activities on a spectacularly sunny day! Visitors were entertained by roving drama performances, concert bands, choirs and soloists, we were served some amazing culinary delights, had opportunity to take part in science experiments, view demonstration lessons and take in the plethora of quality work our students have been producing.
Winner of ‘Win a laptop’ competition
This year the ‘Passport to Success’ theme, gave visitors the opportunity to win a laptop computer (kindly donated by Retravision – Chirnside Park) by collecting stamps in their Open Day Passport. Families embarked on a treasure hunt throughout the school, taking in highlights along the way as they ‘traveled’ to find each of the seven passport stamps. Upon collecting their passport stamps and completing an entry form, they went in to the draw to win the laptop. We are pleased to announce that the winner, randomly drawn from over 300 entries is: Joseph Slingo (Aged 10) from Heathmont Victoria. Joseph and his family were one of over 100 new families interested in Oxley as a possibility for their child to visit on Open Day. Joseph currently attends Marlborough Primary School and enjoys Science and Art as his most favourite subjects. Congratulations Joseph, we hope you enjoy your new laptop and that it is of benefit to you as you further your education.
Many thanks to all of the students, parents and other volunteers who made Open Day such a great day, we couldn’t do it with out you!
