Oxley has a buddy system and an excellent Pastoral Care system which helps the transition of new students to be as smooth as possible. When a new student arrives at Oxley, he or she is assigned a ‘buddy’, a student carefully chosen from within their new class, who is responsible for showing your child around the school. The buddy is instrumental in helping new students make friends quickly by introducing them and by making them comfortable in their new surrounds. Buddys help with other practical things such as understanding the timetable, finding classrooms, specialist areas and toilets, how to order a Canteen lunch, where the best spots are to play and how the homework system works.
