Physical activity, personal fitness and sporting skills are developed in a variety of ways at Oxley Christian College.
Every student is a member of one of the three school Houses: Gibeon Warriors (Red), Tabor Trojans (White) and Zion Crusaders (Blue). Students compete for house points in the Athletics, Swimming and Cross-Country carnivals. Students who excel in these carnivals are invited to represent Oxley Christian College at inter-school carnivals. On the final day of school for Year 12 students, students in Years 7-12 compete in an Inter-House Sport Carnival in basketball, soccer and table tennis teams.
Oxley Christian College is a member of the EISM sporting competition, which caters for independent schools in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The EISM coordinate weekly inter-school sport during school hours.
Year 7s compete on Monday afternoons (Terms 2-4), Year 8-9 teams compete on Thursday afternoons (Terms 2-4), and Year 10-12 teams compete on Wednesday afternoons (Terms 1-3).
The sports in the Year 8-9 and Year 10-12 competitions are:
|Boys Teams||Girls Teams|
Students in Year 12 may elect to use the time to complete additional private study, rather than participate in the sporting programs offered. Students in Years 7 to 11 who are not chosen in the Inter-school teams for that week participate in an alternative sporting program.
