Academic Expectations

As students progress through the curriculum in both Middle and Senior Years, they will experience a move from foundational studies towards greater independent learning. Conceptual frameworks are established and information gathering, research skills, analytical and critical thinking are fostered to facilitate independent learning and problem solving.

Middle School students need to commit to:

  • Working in all subjects at a level that aims for their personal best
  • Completing homework of between 1 and 2 hours per evening, depending on the year level and specific subjects chosen
  • Developing responsibility for managing and organising their class and home study, and meeting deadlines for the submission of work
  • Working with their teachers to achieve best outcomes for the student

Senior students need to commit to:

  • Working in all subjects at a level that aims for their personal best.
  • A well organised and routinely followed homework and home study program of between 2 and 4 hours per evening, depending on the year level and specific subjects chosen.
  • Accepting responsibility for managing and organising their class and home study, and independently meeting deadlines for the submission of work.
  • Working constructively with staff to achieve individual success.
